I am jumping into cyclocross this fall.  Did a few weeknight practice rides last week, going to keep going to those as long as daylight allows.  Hope to do some racing too!  Anybody else racing cross?

I don't have a cross bike, though most of my cycling friends do race cross. I'll go out and watch.

I'm going to racing track again this season. Track is a winter sport here because we have an indoor velodrome.

I want to but not sure I will have much time.  Lots of training sessions with my team going on just no time to get to them.

Though getting a new bike is always nice, so maybe have to make the time.

with no background nor practice, I borrowed my older son's cross bike and raced - it was a BLAST.  I am supposed to race again this saturday, but been sick so not sure it will happen....

Fastest growing cycling sport in the US from what i was told.

did my first race the weekend of the 19/20th, had a total freaking blast.  It is much different than Tri training as you are always red-lined and changing effort/power levels.  After my half this weekend i will do another 2-3 races depending on life circumstances. The people are also quite friendly, like being at a Tri with no swim or run!!

I have had my cross my bike for 6 years now not doing it any justice.  This will be my first year racing with it on Mt Washington,NH.   Just did my first try this past weekend so after a short rest up,  training begins!

I am racing for second season and will probably do 8-11 races...one or two races most weekends. We have tons of races here in MA area.

It is a blast...hard, 100% focus needed, amazing and I feel like a kid. Not to many women my age start cross racing but so glad I found it as it is such a great change of pace after IM training.

I'm interested, but there aren't any races in our area.

But what is one to do with over 150 acres of idle cotton land.   I may be looking into RDing.

I did a race today that was very muddy from rain yesterday....my husband got some great shots.

Next weekend Verge in Providence at the location of the National Championship 4-6 years ago. Only 20 miles from my home and supposed to be the nicest course in NE.

I'm a bit banged up from falling today twice..oh well that is part of the fun of cross.

I started doing cylco cross two weeks ago; I bought a 2008 felt F1X on a Monday, rode it two times and by Saturday I was racing. It was a blast so much that I raced again on Sunday and again this past weekend both days! This time it was cold (38F) it was wet and it was super muddy and it made even more fun. This sport is quickly growing on me because it is humbling, it is hard, it makes you feel like a kid, it is bad a$$ and it is just freaking awesome

Usually I struggle to stay motivated to ride my bike through the winter but this time around I am looking forward to get on my bike; beside been forced to race in the cold and rain is making it easier to go out riding on the road. This weekend I am heading to New Gloucester, Maine to continue to race, this time the DOWNEAST CYCLOCROSS WEEKEND UCI 2 (Week 4 of VERGE NECCS SERIES) where I'll race both sat and sunday.

Here is my favorite cross video: http://vimeo.com/5923730
