tri bike or road bike for nube

This was my first year in triathlon.  I found more motivation from getting a tri bike that reminded me of my commitment vs a road bike that resembled that old ten speed i had as a kid.  Commit back to the sport, buy the tri bike!

Road bike, it's heaps more versatile.

If you're wanting to climb on occasion (as it appears you do) and if you only plan to ride one bike, a road bike is definitely the way to go. Much, much more versatile.

While I do not have a tri bike, for just getting back into it, I would suggest a road bike. You can buy some clip on aero bars and a forward seat post and achieve a pretty good tri position, but also have more versatility for climbing, group rides, etc. If you are just going to race tris, then go for the tri bike, but if it's gonna be your only bike, then you will definitely get more versatility out of the road bike.

I am newbish....I was overweight...I have a tri and a road bike....tri bike has seen the road only a few times. The road bike has 100's of miles on it. Get the road bike.
