Spinervals Virtual Reality Series Vol 4 - Madison, WI Training Ride

He only gets lost in the very start where they are looking to get out of Madison.  It gets a little boring after awhile and his voice tends to drone on and on.  It is a good way to see the course to a certain extent.  Hard to tell the terrain by watching it but it gives you an idea of the course.  Sorry for the ambiguity.

I liked it a lot.... I plan on using it when I go at IM for a second time.  When they are using the camera from the truck behind it is good to see the elevation changes.... but I don't like how he talks nonstop.  I mute him about 20 minutes into it!

I'm not familiar with the Spinervals DVD's, but I presume they are independent of type/model of trainer used (i.e., they do not "control" the difficulty level of the trainer like the Tacx or Computrainer). If so, the DVD will be a poor substitute for an actual course ride. I can't imagine these DVD's being helpful as a similation of anything - visual, terrain, etc. Nothing substitutes for an outdoor ride on the actual course, but I think you asked a slightly different question - are they useful for training for...? They might be useful, as a visual distraction, in my opinion, nothing more. Watch a movie instead.
