Curious whos interested in a ride around 30-50ish miles. Not sure exactly where,or when but just trying to get a freel for who might be interested.

I am riding some road in Rockville that closes on the weekend? Beech Drive? I called out for some advice on RBR and got this:

"Capitol Crescent Trail is crowded. Wouldn't recommend. Beech Dr is closed to vehicular traffic each weekend and holiday day, making it great for road rides. It's scenic in the rock creek woodsy way, but it doesn't offer any of the sightseeing. You could hook a Beech Dr leg with a monument bike tour by getting off Beech at Broadbranch/Park Rd to Mt Pleasant to 16th Street to the White House/15th Street up to Wash Monument and the Mall easy enough."

So I'm driving from Frederick to Rockville on Sunday about 11-ish with two bikes on the roof, meeting a buddy from Florida, and riding about thirty >>>

Beach Drive. Right by my house. Start in Kensington at the end where it meets Garrett Park Drive (I think its that) at Veirs Mill Park. Bike down (this part isn't closed but you'll see lots of cyclists on it) go past 3 stoplights, veer right at the T and go under 495, go up the hill, veer to the left at the next light (its a 3 way intersection). Then you'll come to the next light at JOnes Mill Road, go straight, and that takes you past Candy Cane City (a playground) and to the closed portion. If you go down to Pierce Mill (the last closed gate) , you can turn right and go up a hill. There is a nice circle where you can do hill repeats.

Yes, I bike on this all the time. From my house its a nice 25 mile loop.

Lifetime Fitness Ride -- Saturday, October 17

We are meeting about 7:45 am at Centennial in the grassy parking area….there will be water and snacks available for refuel each time you circle back to the park. We have a volunteer doing sag.

It's $10 per person and they will have a fast lead, a slow lead and cue sheets. The loops are 33.3 miles.
