elbi999 - 2010-08-17 2:31 PM So who else is in the last wave?  I will be looking for some girls to chat with since we will have plenty of time to kill and I am not sure what time my husband will be getting there with the kids!

ME! I am in the last wave.  My Bib# is 2597.  Man, it will be good to have someone to hang with while we are waiting.

Mandy

I am in the last wave too, and I would LOVE to see a few friendly faces at the start.  Please look for me:  BIB# 2725.

Water temperature is 75 deg - perfect wetsuit temps!  Local weather forecast is saying party cloudy with lows 51 highs mid 70's.  Perfect Tri weather!

Count me in for Saturday (assuming you don't mind a slow poke like me hanging around with all you super stars!)

Bib#679
Wave 6 (very happy about that, but why put us older ladies (40-44) with the young ones (24 and under?)

Anyone else in my wave?

I'm thinking about telling my husband and kids to stay home - the logistics of this race are too complicated for my simple mind!

Our son is working at a Scout camp and NH and today he sent me a text asking me if there is an IM going on in NH. He saw tents and signs with IM logo on it.

How exciting your 70.3 is coming soon..hope weather is great and your tapers are going well.

In case I forget tomorrow (lots of packing and errands and training), here are the details for Friday:

Fratello's at 7:30pm - 799 Union Avenue
For those who have been up there before it's on the same road that Ellacoya is (Rt. 11), 4-5 miles down the road, and it'll be on the corner of 107/11 and Union Ave, on your left.

I'll be calling at 5 to (hopefully) set up reservations for 16.  If anyone has an issue getting there please feel free to call me (617.610.3933).

Thanks everyone, can't wait to meet the crew and get some pre-race chatter going!  Safe travels for everyone.

Hey guys!  I just discovered this blog a few weeks ago and have been following it and decided to chime in.  Anyone in wave 11 7:45 I'm bib #1468.  This is my first HIM, I've done the Timberman sprint the past 3 years and decided to upgrade this year.  I have been training since Feb and feel good to go.  We're heading up tomorrow morning and I'll be picking up my packet tomorrow afternoon.  Can't wait the weather sounds like its going to be perfect!  Good Luck everyone!!!

Thanks Ray!

Just as an FYI, I'll be solo, so the "+1" isnt' necessary anymore. Party of 15 I guess.

Hey everyone!  I participated in this thread a while ago - until the race sold out and made the decision of whether to sign up for this or Lake Stevens a no-brainer for us.

We raced last weekend and now it's your turn.  I just wanted to chime in and wish you all good luck.  I'm looking forward to reading the race reports.

Have fun out there!

Just arrived in Laconia, it is beautiful today up here.

Drive up from PA was easy and went smooth, hopefully a sign of how my race will be.

Hope you all have a safe arrival.

I am in Guilford!  Where are you guys????

I went to the beach and the transition area - lake was choppy from all the cussed jet skis.  Holy crap.  But seeing all of that set up really got me pumped.

See ya tomorrow night!

WOOOT!!!

Drove by transition and bike route - water was very choppy, white caps at 7:40am, but weather is perfect, 65 degrees and sunny lite wind.

Went to Gunstock, nice area.

Going to figure out where the family will position themselves on bike course to see me twice.

If anyone in our group happens to still be reading this: Fratello's will be an hour wait if we even want to stick it out, not much I could do since they don't take reservations.  Just wanted to give a heads up because we certainly won't be seated anywhere 7:30, and it might be best just to get some ice cream or something.

Sorry everyone, very frustrated they don't take reservations.

whoa! Just did a quick ride on the furthest out portion of the bike course...absolutely flying!! If only the whole course was like this. The only issue was the winds - sometimes cross winds.

Anyone heading to the pre-race meetings today? I think I may do the later one.

Dinner was great. Thanks to Ray for setting it up.
