I copied this from the Boston Marathon website FAQ: "How do I get to the start from the parking lots in Hopkinton? Can my family come with me? |

Veteran 193 Bridgewater MA | Subject: RE: Boston Marathon : Official Thread Re - plastic bag. Yes, the big drawstring bag is the one to use. In the plastic envolope with your other official race stuff is a rather large label - your name, #, etc... - is supposed to go on the plastic bag. If you look at the bag, it tells you where to place the big label. |

Champion 8903 | Subject: RE: Boston Marathon : Official Thread Report from the race! Spent the morning at the start of the marathon, meeting up with Marianne (mav) and took the shuttle bus to town and the 1/2 mile walk to the athlete's village. After about 15 minutes of waiting near the marathon course sign, we ran into Nathan (Aneides) and got his picture... A few minutes later, up walked Brian (beadams)... Stood around a bit, discussing the race and the day, perfect weather, temps in the low 50's, sunny with a tail wind! Brian, Nathan and Marianne... Then, despite hanging around there for about an hour and not running into any other BT-ers, Marianne and I walked back to the start line area, about 45 minutes before the first wave went off at 10 AM. As luck would have it, Jeff (Q) walked right past us!! I looked for some of the others that were running but it was a crap shoot, trying to pick a race number out of the thousands going by, even as they were somewhat segregated in their respective corrals. At the last minute I did spot Joey (joeyg) but it was too late to get a picture of him. Here are a few additional shots of the start... |

Extreme Veteran 483 San Diego | Subject: RE: Boston Marathon : Official Thread Hey Everyone! Sorry I didn't meet up in the morning. It was a bit chilly. We did one loop around the tent at the Athletes' Village but didn't see anyone. After that, we went out and sat in the sun by the tennis courts. Congrats to Brett for going well under his goal of 2:59. A 2:57 on that course is great! fgump - right on target...nice! markdills - you and I were in the same corral and finished within 30 seconds of each other. We must have run together for some portion of the race for sure. I had a Tri Club San Diego tattoo on my calf. You may have seen me. Curious if you had any distinguishing apparel / features (pinup tattoos, perhaps? ). velcromom - hope you made it through relatively unscathed. Rest up and have fun at Wildflower. We've got some big fish to fry up in Idaho this June! I was kinda sorta hoping for a sub-3, but I was off of last year's time (3:03 high) by a little bit. Still got my Re-Q (bettered my seeding from my Carlsbad time - woo!) and locked up a guaranteed NYC spot. Just have to decide quickly (tomorrow) whether I want to do it this year or not. Hoping for Clearwater this year, so may just wait until 2011. Thanks to Max for putting the list together. I'm just sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up, but I'm sure there will be other opportunities. Good job everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the race as much as I did. I'll be back in Hopkinton for the 115th running for sure. |

Master 1619 Hingham, Ma | Subject: RE: Boston Marathon : Official Thread Congrats everyone. This is from wbztv.com - thought you might want to check it out tomorrow.
If you miss seeing them live, don't worry. Beginning TUESDAY morning we will have a brand new 'Find-A-Finish' feature on wbztv.com. It will allow you to enter your athlete's Finish Time and bring up video of the Finish Line from that moment. |
