Lots of elite motorsport drivers are really avid cyclists and runners.  Button has done some triathlons as a way to stay in shape for driving.  Mark Webber is a really avid and strong cyclist.  And Alonso is working on funding a Pro Tour cycling team.

It just sucks that once again Rubens has to play second fiddle to a teammate.  That guy just can't get a break!!!

Schumacher is a pretty good cyclist.

Lots of race drivers ride as they can burn lots of calories (you want to be as light as possible to be fast), build outstanding endurance and get good core strength. Cycling is pretty darn good... and tri's aren't that bad either, although you tend to build a bit more muscle weight as an elite triathlete compared to an elite cyclist.

Pretty cool! British too! Just watched the race, didn't think he was going to wrap it up this race, but he nailed it!

BTW, major spoiler! I thought I would be safe on the BT boards, but nope. I have to wait a day or two and watch downloaded races so I have to avoid all news outlets around championship time. Never fails though, every year I find out who wins early.

I think Tony Kanaan has done at least one IM.

Hahaha, same thing happened to me. Just as I was about to watch the Brazilian GP, I opened the first link. Blast. Still a great race though, thoroughly entertaining.

Got to feel bad for Rubino. Qualifies on the pole for his home GP, can take the championship to the last race and flats. Got to be good feelings at Brawn...just wonder if it was a fluke this year. I don't see Ferrari or McLaren sitting idle. They take the constructors title very serious.

Yeah, but the silly in-season testing ban is killing Ferrari.  Pisses me off ..........

I can't believe Ferrari with Fernando pushing the team won't be at least as good as McLaren and Lewis, even if Kimi goes there. Ferrari have not had a driver with Alonsos combo of leadership and driving skills since Schumi left. I don't see Brawn or Red Bull making the leaps in the off season that Ferrari and McLaren will, and doubt that anybody else will. Shame really. It was nice to have a year of unexpected podium finishers.

Read today that Nick Heidfeld might get second McLaren seat. Apparently Lewis Hamilton (or his Dad) does not want Roseberg or Raikkonen. Maybe they might challenge him?????
