One more - The Barking Dog Duathlon, Denver CO - 433 athletes. It looks like the larger events show that all three legs are equally influential, but the bike leg always has a slightly higher correlation.

Not so odd when you consider this data is referring to a draft-legal race.



I would expect that it has more to do with the fact that it is a group of elite athletes racing each other than it being a draft legal race.  Although I haven't looked at the data, I would suspect that you would see a similar distribution if you were to look at just the elites at IM, 70.3 or non-draft legal oly.

Neat results.

I'd like to see one of the big races (lots of participants) broken down into thirds (or something similar).   Do these same conclusions hold when looking at FOP, MOP, and BOP athletes?
