I'm thinking about renting some wheelsets for IMFL.  What's the best wheelsets (non-disk) to have to handle a flat windy course like IMFL ? Zipp 4s, 6s, 8s, or tri spokes ?

just curious why no disc.

i would choose something deep, i use fp80's for all the races down here.  soemtimes with a cover sometimes no cover.

I'm not a total expert in race wheels, but in those conditions, I would go with a zipp 404 in the front and since you should go deeper in the back to help offset some of the steering issues crosswinds have on the front wheel, the Zipp 808 or 1080 in the back (most likely the 808).

SRAM S80 wheel set.   Extremely beautiful, modern, and if your bikes red, your set!!

How big are you? How good are you at handling your bike?

Price and perhaps a little bit of concerns about handling under heavy crosswinds.  I'm just recovering from a clavicle fracture so handling is very important right now

5' 7" 120#.  I was pretty good at handling prior to the injury but not so much anymore since I'm not 100% yet.

For what it's worth, I'd go the safe route, run a 404 (or even a 303) on the front and if you are comfortable with it a disc on the back, if not then just run a set. A tri/808 in the front might be uncomfortable/unnerving... but on the same note, you've got some time to get used to it.
