For those of you who have followed the BT beginner IM training plan, how did you find the length, duration of the taper? It has the last big week (about 18hrs) ending 4 weeks before the event. Does that seem like too much time between last long ride/run and the event? Thanks!

I thought 4 weeks seemed like a very long time between the last long ride and the race when following the BT plan.  It worked out fine for me though, when I used it for IMMoo.  I was feeling kind of tired during middle 2 weeks and started to feel really fresh during race week.  A friend sent me this Mark Allen link when I asked her the same question.

That being said, I've shortened my taper to 3 weeks for my upcoming race.

4 weeks, I followed it according to the program.  In fact I probably left some stuff out.  On the 2nd week I was so tired I did not do much at all.  There were a few of us that followed the program and I think 2 of the others were actually sick in the second week so did nothing.

We all finished ahead of our times we planned or on target.

Good Luck.
