Subject: 1st HIM Orlando, FL May 2010, 1st IM October 2010 Great Floridian I will be turning 50 April 2010 so - I signed up today for my first HIM next year in May. I am planning a Ironman in October 2010. I have been doing international distances off and on since 1987. I have been training for three months on the bike and running. I will begin swimming in January. I am currently working out 12 hours per week without doing any doubles. Six of those hours are coming on Saturday and and Sunday. This week I will begin doing doubles of running and biking about 3 times in a week. I am doing a 1/2 marathon the first week in December. I am doing a century ride the third week in November. I say all of this to point out that I have not structured my training. Basically I bike one day run the next and take off 1 day per week. I have been doing long runs of 11 or so miles and long rides of 65. I want to make sure I do the best job possible with my training in order to complete the HIM and IM next year. Can anyone give me a link or book or any advice that I could use to structure my training more? Thanks |
