Official results are posted now.  I came in at 107/398 in my AG, 1198/12,462 overall.  Not bad I guess, but I was hoping to get into the double digits in my AG.  But as long as Dave and I are in the same AG, I don't stand a chance unless I put on a pair of rollerblades.

Congrats to Trish who once again smoked the competition!!!

My results are non-existent for the turkey trot.  If I enter my name,  the search returns no results.  Going by my watch and the gun/chip difference that was posted for Trish, I am thrilled.  I wanted to be sub 35, which my watch said I was but I wouldn't believe it until the results were up.  I crossed the start just after Trish but used her difference, so my average pace was almost the sub 11 that I was secretly hoping for.  I can rationalize it in my head to be sub 11 by microseconds if you consider the added distance for the weaving through walkers during the last 0.5 mile of the 5k.  Anyway, I ended well into the top half of my age group.  YEAH!!!!  I am very happy with my first 5k.  It was a lot of fun.  Next year, costume for this girl.  You guys were all so great!!

Nice 2 met you too (girlwith1nose)!!!  I really need to get out more and met more BT people.  Well, I almost didn't do the trot this year.  It has been a rough year.  After thinking about it, I could not let the tradition die.  This was the race that got me into running.  I have been doing this race faithfully since 1988 and hope to be doing it for a lot longer!

Just now checking in after being out of town for a few days.  I had a good time, but a pretty miserable race!  It took about 1/2 mile for the crowds to break up for us, and we weren't even that far back.  I still PR'd, but only because it has been about 3 years since I've run a standalone 10K (forgot how much they hurt and I paced it badly!).  I also agitated the little cold I had and now have full blown bronchitis   That cold air did a number on my throat and lungs!

Coop - good to see you!  Trish, Jo, and Ranger...I tried to find you afterwards when I ran into Coop, but had no luck.  And I did see the Tootsie Roll from afar!  Here's a pic of us pre-race...I made the candy corn out of fleece so it was runner friendly, but the whole costume wanted to blow up in the winds on Michigan Ave!

I had a great time at the race!  My garmin was dead, Coop lent me his watch, which I failed (big surprise) at operating correctly and had no clue about my pace or distance till I met up with my trainer Fred (what are the odds in 14,000 people?) at about mile 3.5.  We ran the rest of the race together and he gave me pacing info and distance, and GREAT company!  :-

Good times with good peeps!  My time was a pr cause I've only done one other stand alone 10k....this race last year! :-

The "recovery" wine at Jogo's is part of our tradition!  I just love tradition!

Sorry to have missed the candy corn, pilgrim, chicken and tootsie roll!  Next year we meet inside Cobo at the statue...now we have a plan! :-)
