AeroBaldness (Ted) is in for the 10K in a Santa Suit

Talked to the Race Director of the Turkey Trot while at the Freep Expo, he is really trying to expand and hype the fun aspects of this event.  He said he plans on having Carolers along the routes, more inflateables and holiday cookies at aid stations along with water.  Having run it last year in a costume, I highly recommend it.  The fans lining the parade route along Woodward were awesome.  I take racing very serious (maybe too serious), but this is one to just have fun and enjoy and very cool course and even cooler runners.

Was typing as you replied.  Costumed runners get a preferred corral which put us at the front of the pack (which was a cluster without and seeding by time).  I busted out of the gate with the Super Mario Brothers just ahead of me, Wonder Women at my right and Mrs Claus (my wife) trailing right behind.

costumes are so hard because it could be 5 degrees or it could be 50 degrees that day.  I'd have roasted in a chicken costume (pun intended) a few years.

I'm registered for the 10k but will likely be in germany so I won't be able to run. Costumes are a blast though.I usually dress up as a green bay fan!

Are you swimming at schoolcraft again?  I started a few weeks ago.  Going to be a big year, I signed up for Ironman Wisconsin 2010!  What's new with you?

I am in and paid  for the 10K, and am currently looking for a costume.  I was thinking wonder woman, but that sounds like it is a popular one...we will see what I can come up with!

Tom & I are in for the 10k, the t-shirts look awesome (they were out at the Freep expo).  We're brainstorming costumes, Tom wants me to run as a "sexy pilgrim".  Riiiiiiiiiight.

Ok, I'm in for the 10k, all paid in full.  I was thinking of going as a Devil in a Blue Dress, but that might be a bit drafty   I'll have to come up with something good.

So is there some place where we can all meet?

Quick note for those who pre-paid for parking. The postcard looks very much like any other "advertiser" type mailer you get for the Turkey Trot (or any other race for that matter). It was almost thrown away. And, it states you must be in the garage by 6:45 am.

Does it say that on your postcard?  Because mine makes no mention of that.

Mine is for the Cobo Garage.  It may be that it is only for Cobo Garage (not roof? or JLA) because I have to enter off of Jefferson.

In 2005 my brother-in-law and I were running late due to massive hangovers due to being at The Wings Game the night before and pre-hydrating with Jager shots and got to Jefferson & Woodward and they were pulling busses across Jefferson to shut it down.  We ended up having to park over by Police HQ and had to run over to Cobo in the snow & 7 degree windchills to just make the start.  I am guessing this is why they want the Cobo folks in before 7:00 AM, but may not for the other garages.
