Subject: RE: Northern NJ bike rides/Hoboken The Swamp run from Parsippany was great! It is a very relaxed group of riders, we had between 6 and 8, a few guys met us mid rout and others split the group and rode home. The rout is very flat, just shy of 40 miles total. We stopped at a deli at the 1/2 way point for 10 min or so and Andy, the ride leader was great checking up on everyone and made sure no one laged behind. As advertised, it was about a 17 -18 mph avg at some points a few of us pushed harder and at other points we were chillin at 12-14 mph. This was my 1st time doing this ride, there was 1 other rider new to the ride. When I pulled up to the parking lot in the AM I asked if I could join and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. There seems to be a core of 3-4 guys and they say they have a few new faces every week. They do this ride year round, every sunday at 11, unless it is raining/snowing or the temp is below 20. I will be doing this ride every sunday I can, can't this weekend. I highly recomend it. -B |
