Subject: Drink mix on the bike leg
What is the best way to carry and dispense drink mix on the bike leg of an ironman?  I have seen people put mix into plastic bags but this seems like it would be messy and time consuming.
Any other solutions?

I'm racing IMAZ next weekend and would love to talk to someone who has done that race before.  My expected times: swim-1:10 bike-6:00 run-4:20

thanks

One more question: is it better to carry all the liquid I will need for each half of the bike (assuming I refill at the special needs tent), or should I just carry two bottles and fill them up at aid stations?

It's going to vary based on what your nutrition is.  Everyone does something different.  I used Carbo-Pro.  I made the bottle strong enough to last for 1 loop.  Put a second bottle already mixed in Special Needs for the second loop.  Every time I took a sip or two of my nutrition bottle, i took a swig or two of water with it.  So at the aid stations i only had to replace water bottles if i needed them.

Um I carry my bottles pre mixed for the whole ride. 2000Cal over 3 bottles (2L) washed down with water at each aid station. I did a total of 4Lwater and 2L fuel last IM on the bike.
