You know everybody, when I get involved in a sport I like to read about it. That's why I subscribe to Runners World.

What is the best Triathlon Magazine on the Market?

Thanks
Evelyn

well, Triathlete Magazine is the big name out there.  Mostly ads and stuff about pros.  American Tri was supposed to be about the average Joe doing triathlons and while I liked it much more, it only shows up sporadically.  On their very first cover they had a pro, but I don't think they've done that since.  I hope they are able to stay in production and work out the bugs, because it really was aimed more at me than the other one.

I buy Triathlete Magazine (and Bicycling) at the local stand and find that although it does have so many advertisements, it does offer a lot of little tips on triathlons. I especially like the reviews of triathlon equipment; the March issue is a veritable gem of information on equipment for the first time triathlete.

I can never find any of the tri magazines at the local news stand. I have a subscription to Runner's World

I read Triathlete magazine - at the moment. I thought it was the only magazine on the shelves. Now I know there are a few more I will look out for those too.

I religously read Inside Tri, Triathlete, and Runner's World. Great articles and training tips if you can weave through the adds.
Once and a while I will pick up 220 Triathlon from the UK

as someone who subscribes to both, I'd say that Triathlete is better than Inside Triathlon. I've found both magazines to be not that helpful for me though. I mean, I like looking at all the pretty new bikes, and sometimes its neat hearing about the pros, but I don't really find them that useful. I've found www.beginnertriathlete.com and this forum to be FAR more valuable than those magazines. I'm not renewing either subscription.

Thanks everyone. I looked up American Tri and found their web site.

It's www.americantri.com

From there I ordered their magazine. It also looks like a good web site.

The Triathlete magazines are mostly about the pros.
A good resource that I have found that is geared towards the REST of us is: www.trifuel.com. It's filled with great articles on triathlon and each of the three disciplines. You can also sign up for their free online newsletter. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Thanks Evelyn, for the info!

I just ordered it as well. One of my housemates gets Inside Tri, and Tri Magazine, and I do read them, but I'm looking forward to my first mag!!
