Subject: Tri Swim Coach vs Total Immersion Swim Videos
I am on the market for some swimming training videos. I have checked out TI and Tri Swim Coach and I am not sure which video to buy. Does anyone out there have experience with either of the videos?

I would consider my swimming ability to be intermediate. I was taught about 10 months ago while training with Team in Training. Since then I have completed a 1/2 IM and finished the swim in 40:28 and hope to improve my swim time in my next half this spring.

they're very similar, just some terminology differences.  I have both and personally prefer the tri-swim coach DVD, but that's just my opinion.

I fund there ae differences between TI and triswimcoach.  TI really de-emphasizes kicking--which a lot of triathletes tend to do anyway.

I work with a Master's style class and my coach is constantly fussing about the lack of kick in most of us (yes, 95% of the group does tris)  I found that while triswimcoach.com isn't kick focused he does focus on drills & form that my Master's coach insists on. 

 If you're working with a coached group I would stick to the source closer to what you are being coached with.  It has helped me (I started the Master's goup at a step above put your face in & blow bubbles 3 years ago)

It sounds like the tri swim coach video is more technical and drill oriented, and the way to go. Thanks for your help!

You might want to look into Swimsmooth as well.  I have the DVD box set and it seems very good.  The second disc is questionable but overall pretty good.  Althought the website alone has plenty of good info.
