Are you doing a Tri or other race this weekend? Share what race you are doing...what your goals are, what is challenging to you and your plan if you have one to achieve your goal.

I'm doing a 1/4 Ironman called Mooseman in NH tomorrow.

My goal is to have fun, enjoy the race and finish. I'd like to finish under 4:15 but that is not my primary goal. My biggest challenge will be the .6 mile swim in brisk 52-58 degree water. I have some visual cue I hope will help me...focus on the moment...breath out complete...exhale fully and feel okay stopping and recovering and count my strokes alternating between freestyle with no kicking and sidestroke. Shared by another BTer...think of Dory from Finding Nemo...keep on swimming. So many BTers have given me support and encouragment...I was considering being a NS (not start), but now I feel much more confident...thanks everyone!

I am not racing but going on a women only bike ride in Logan, Utah. I am doing the 30 mile while my friend is doing the 100 mile.  There will be hundreds of us ruling the roads   Since this will be my first organized ride, I am just there to learn and have fun.

Remember:  Suck It Up, Buttercup!

The running club at my gym(shameless plug here...Lifetime) is having a practice tri.  It's $5 bucks for non running club members so That's what I'll be doing ...250m swim, 10mile bike, 2.3 mile run..

I'll probably fill out a race report just for the heck of it because it's somewhat of an organized event

No tri but a 5k this weekend in Westlake Village, CA...should be fun. It is a benefit for Senior Meals on Wheels...

Set a new PR with a 26:37 last week in the Brentwood 5k...Looking for around 26:20 this weekend...

I ran a 32:20 in my first 5k 2 months ago and I have improved in each of my last 5 races so this will be a good test...

I've got a Sprint tomorrow: .6mi swim, 14mi bike, 3mi run. My goal is to do the swim in under 20 minutes (~2min/100), the bike in 45min (just under 20mph), and the run in 27 (9min/mile). Add about 5 minutes for both transitions, that's 1:37. If I can break 1:30, that would be great. I expect to be MOP.

I always get nervous/excited just thinking about a race.

Good luck and have fun tomorrow, Kathy.

First of two scheduled sprint tri's coming up on Sunday - the Pigman in Palo.  My only goal in this and every event is to beat my time from last year.  As that was my first tri, and I was incredibly SLOW, I should certainly be able to achieve that!

Good Luck and Good Fun to all others who are out and about this weekend.

Rock N RollMan 1/2 IM in Macon, GA.

I just want to finish. I haven't been on Big Red since a crappy ride in the rain on Monday. It will be a long, hot, hilly course.
Yay!

I just don't want to be DFL in my age group. This is a possiblity since there are only 7 of us. Yay again.

I'm doing the first of the Central Florida Triathlon Series (sprint). It's in Clermont, and I hope the weather's nice. It's been raining for a couple of days. No big deal if it rains I guess, I did my training ride in the rain last night...but I would like to have beautiful weather so my family doesn't think I'm nuts!

Ft. Benning is hosting a "Reverse" Tri (run/bike/swim) tomorrow.  It's a "half-Olympic," if there is such a thing: 5k run, 20k bike, 750m swim.  Once I learned that the swim was a pool swim, I was in!

Still have to work on my open water swimming, but this will give me a good benchmark to see if I've improved.

A local sprint race.  1/3 s, 13 b, 3 r.  A nice little race, though I'm probably going to get rained on.  Fortunately the bike course is straight out and back, so will be easy even in the rain.

I'm doing my first tri ever, a shorter one as a prelude to the 2 standard-lengths I have later this summer. 500m swim, 30 km ride, 8 km run. The swim is in the pool, and my first goal is not to tick anyone off by going too slow. My second goal is to get a good start in the run, since I've struggled a bit in practice bike-run bricks, and my final goal is to enjoy every minute of the pain.

Kathy, good luck tomorrow!

I'm doing my first triathlon tomorrow, the Issaquah Sprint tri with a 1/4 mile swim, 14 mile bike, and 3.5 mile run.

My race goal is to have fun and push myself to the limit of what I've trained to. I'll take it easy on the swim and then try to pace myself on the bike and run to finish strong. I tend to push too hard too early and peter out for the ends of my training sessions and 5Ks (only previous race experience).

Have fun everybody!
Jeff

Good luck to all racing this weekend!

First sprint tri on Sunday for me. First goal is to finish, and to still be able to smile when I do so. I'm hoping to finish in under 1:40, but I'm just not sure what to expect. But, after Sunday, I will be a triathlete!

I'm racing in the mighty Pocomoke(MD) Triathlon (.4/14/3.5 miles).  I'm shooting for ~2:00/100yds, 21.5mph, and <7:30min/mi.  First tri of the year (second in my lifetime), and it should prove to be a good barometer for my first A race (my first Olympic) in July.

Good luck to everyone racing.  Thanks to all those volunteering!!!

Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!...
I am doing my first tri. Sunday, the Miami International Iron Monkey (a little monkey b/c they also have a half Iron distance, the whole Ape)... 0.6m swim, 22m bike, 6.5m run.
My goals?
Have fun and finish the event,
Stay flat / injury free,
Drink plenty fluids and get enough fuel. It is going to be a hot one.
Not to miss the bike turnaround for the Int. distance (I do not want to end up riding 56 miles)...
Doing the race less than 3 hours would be a plus: 30min swim, 1:15hr bike, 1:00hr run...
AND... enjoy the view... all those chiseled bodies... um, um, um....
For me, racing is just an excuse to keep on training...

I'm a Volunteer newbie tomorrow at the Issaquah Tri (Seattle area).  I'll be on the run course, my goal is not to point anyone in the wrong direction and hopefully see some BTers who are doing this tri as their first ever!
