Silver bullets don't work on these vampires. You have to tear them apart and set them on fire ...  sheesh ...

Silver bullets are for Werewolves.

Wooden stakes through the heart and exposure to direct sunlight kill a vampire (they DON'T "sparkle!").  I suppose decapitation might work.  Garlic, crucifixes and holy water can hurt them.  They cast no reflection.

Is no mythology sacred any more?!  ;-)

I'm not surprised by 14-20ish year olds knee deep in this but I am surprised by the 35+ Moms that can't seem to get enough.  Teenage vampires?  Really?  I guess I just don't get it.
Well I am 35+ but I'm not a Mom. It's a nice love story with some action thrown in here and there. And for the people (although not me) who are religious and don't like reading about sex in books- this is a good series for them. Some adults don't want adult themed books. Gosh, my 27 year old sister (who is a Mom and VERY religious) read the BACK of one of the books and said it was too raunchy for her to read. *Shrug*

The series is written by a Mormon woman and the whole vampire thing with Edward not eating humans and such and wrestling with self-control is a metaphor for chastity. Not THAT scandalous.

Ah yeah, I totally agree with you... but my sister flipped her lid when she read the back of one of the books. She's a bit... over the top sometimes.
