Need some help. Was researching possible Ironmans to do one day in the far future and was curious as to the times of qualifying spots for Ironman St. George. However I can't find it in the archive on the Ironman website. There's an option that says "choose race" and they have an option for Ironman utah but than only 2002 and 2003 years come up and it's only for half distance. I've tried googling results from the 2009 st. George Ironman and nothing comes up. Does anyone have a link or no where I can find results for this race? Thank you so much...appreciate the help.

It's a new race, that's why you can't find previous results.

BTW (and FWIW):  Even though IMSG will probably be a slowish IM course, the qualifying times will probably still be pretty fast, because it is being allotted fewer Kona slots than the existing races are getting next year (other than IMCDA).

It's the most convenient in terms of travel for me and I love that it's below sea level. Curious to see reviews for it next year!

Not below sea level.  It's 2,860 feet.

And the bike course basically climbs a mountain. Twice!

You can only fit +/- 1,800 bikes on the pier at Kona.  That means with every new race they add, there are fewer slots going to be available in the "slot pool."  Since FL/CDA/WI/LP have been around for years, they are not going to decrease the number of slots there too much so as to not risk losing interest in those (not like that will ever happen).

Got it. I just saw "lowest elevation" or something like that on the quick facts on their website and I smiled. I'll take the hills over a high altitude race (like couer d Alene). It's just nice that its only 7 to 8 hour drive away! And I like that its in the summer...

No one's mentioned the chip seal roads yet.  Or the cattle guards.

(Several reports from the course are to be found over on ST, fwiw...links are in the St. George thread in the Iron Distance Race Groups forum.)
