Boo: New York Times hates on triathlons

I don't know if I'm posting this in the wrong area - if so, please redirect me - but I wanted to post today's New York Times article on the treacherous dangers of triathlons.

In short: new triathletes tend to get injured. But then take that statement and make it sound really scary and dangerous. I agree that new athletes - in any sport - need to do their research and be careful, but really, this article is a little much.

Anyone agree, or disagree? I know a ton of triathletes who've come to the sport to avoid injury (myself included) and had great success.
