Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving
I am 38 yo, 6'3" and 280 lbs. I am a business owner and after 12 years, I have watched my health go down and weight go up.  My biggest problem is that I can't start a workout routine and continue to go to the gym day in and day out (boring). So I thought about doing something more goal oriented.

Hi and welcome to BT!  Congratulations on your decision to improve your health by doing some exercise.  You will love Triathlon because you will never get bored.  One day you will be running, the other swimming, the other riding your bike and then running, you know, it's never the same.  This is the best place to start.  Make sure you id some people near your area that share your same goals and interest.  Good luck and have fun!  Nelson

Welcome to BT.  In 2008 I weighed 320 lbs. It took me almost a year to lose over 100 lbs. Once I reached my goal I decided that I enjoyed working out so much that I started training for a tri-sprint that will be held in the summer of 2010.  My advice to you is to start slow. Start walking or get a cheap exercise bike and pedal while you watch TV (start at 20 or 30 min.). The most important thing of all is to just cut your calories. The first 21 days are the hardest, after that it becomes a routine !  Gradually pick up your time exercising before you know it you will be ready to Bike, swim and Run in the spring. Set yourself goals along the way.

Word of experience, don't start to run right a way until you reduce your weigh and get your body fit. Running has been and still is tough on my 50 year old body !!

Good luck and let us know how you are progessing !
