Hi everybody.
I have just started to train for my first Tri , A sprint distance in june. I feel that I am in good enough shape now for this distance . I have been following the Olympic distance program and loving it. I am making the transition from playing competitive rugby to the wonderful world of triathlon. Just like to say hello to all and to any fellow canadians or newfies out there.
Appreciate any advice.
Cheers

Dan:

Welcome aboard. I'm in the same boat as you, I have my first tri July 4 (1 Km/32 Km/8 Km) in North Bay, ON. Where and when is your tri?

Good luck, I'm also following the Olymic distance program as well. (Thanks to Ron).

Cheers...

Its in the third week of June. Its being held by my local YMCA where I do some personal training. Lots of staff get involved every year. It is the first of the few distance events that go on here. After the sprint Tri I am going to do a ten mile race in july and then prepare for my first Olympic distance that happens in august. How far are you in the Olympic program ? Which One I am doing the 3X balanced. It is bit of work but I find the mpst time consuming part of this training is preparing meal and gear the night before. Doing lots of Laundry. haha!
Thanks for the welcome , and the support from everyone else.

Greetings Dan from the west coast rock (Vancouver Island). I'm new to the tri scene too! Will do a Sprint in August.
Watch out for the moose on your training rides and run!!!
Ha ha!! Me, I keep an eye out for bears (saw my first one out of his winter sleep last week) and cougars!!!

Cheers!

Welcome to the site! I'm not from Canada, but I live in MN and am originally from the U.P. of Michigan, so pretty close.
