Swim
Comments: Swim is still a weak event for me. My navigation really sucks, so I probably ended up swimming an extra 200 meters or so. I didn't draft because I was constantly off course. One bright spot, I was not fatigued after the swim, so I know with some speed drills I could probably do better. Transition 1
Comments: Started nutrition, Snickers marathon bar. Bike
Comments: I think I went too conservative on the Bike. Not much training on the bike this year. Since this was my first oly, I was conservative overall. What would you do differently?: Train harder and more distance work leading up to the race. Transition 2
Comments: Few quick stretches to loosen the back muscles. Run
Comments: Ok on the run, actually passed some people. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim and being too conservative. Event comments: Good race overall. Was shooting for a 3 hour finish, and went over that at 3:01. So it built some confidence. Next oly is in July in Dallas. Last updated: 2005-03-30 12:00 AM

Early morning start. About an hours drive to the venue. PBJ and a banana, coffee, and water.
10 minute easy swim. The water was fine but there was a cool breeze going so that made standing around waiting for the start very chilly. Brrr!
