Whoo Hoo Malgal! I just joined you! Even though this was going to be an off day, I just did 16 easy miles because my legs were really tight and I wanted to get this behind me. I have two more rides scheduled this month so I'll be a little over my goal as well.

And I apologize for my private clubhouse post last night. Just tired, I guess.

And great job to all of the goddesses still cranking out the miles. We're almost there. I'm heading over to write a RR for yesterday's race, but I think the additional bike miles this month really paid off.

Go, CEL-LEB, go CEL-LEB, go, go ,go CEL-LEB!

I'll be standing at the finish line handing out medals until further notice. Well, if I'm not riding.

And those 7 miles over the top, all I could think about was getting the heck off my bike...

Amen, sister, BONE goddess!!! You rock!

Quick edit to say that I believe you're a B-ONE goddess. No? Not a "bone" goddess. You rock.

Kimj, where ya' at?

Fantastic , great, great job. Your miles were quite hard to achieve with the mountains and altitude. People are going to start fearing you when you show up at a race, if they don't already. What a great month for you.

Goal met...and surpassed (a little ).

Edit:  HUGE congratulations for those of you who have reached the goals you set for yourselves!  Especially those goddesses who really had to dig deep for those miles...BE PROUD

Like many others who've posted, I've gotten a little soured myself.  NOT the smack...I think that's funny as hell, and if you can't stand the heat you might as well get out of the kitchen already.

But what DOES bug me is that this was supposed to be about everyone meeting thier individual goals. But a few of us riding like crazy to make up for those who didn't meet their goals...well...not only does it seem to be a departure from the original spirit of the challenge, but it also excuses those teammates from putting in thier miles, making the challenge worthless for them. ( I'm not referring to anyone who was injured, of course!)

Edit:  I guess what I'm trying to say is that it takes away some of the motivation, maybe.

Do I sense discord among the ranks of the cupcakes?  Team Bones is on a roll.  We're riding like the Blue Train a la U.S. Postal.  See you at the finish, ladies.  The champagne is on ice...

Motivated, the first toast I'll suggest is for the bear. IIRC, he begged off his normal goal, blew by it, and offered beer to his teammates if they'd join him.

Masterful.

No offense, but next challenge, I want to be on Max's team. Now there's a man...

Karl, there's this concept - I know you guys aren't really familiar with or down with it - where WOMEN openly discuss what's on their mind, nobody gets hurt, everyone gets heard! No fists fly, no chests are thumped, just TALKING! What a concept, huh? I know, I know, doesn't really work for about half the population but we've been doing it for ages and it works for us!

Now be a cute little stud-muffin and go build something with your hands. Or something.

Appreciate the "masterful" compliment lynda, but do take exception to the "begged off" comment. Go back and check the original thread, I based my goal on riding less than 20 days this month due to vacation and other commitments, and offered to sit out if that wasn't acceptable, actually would have preferred sitting out:

"Again, this would have to be approved by Renee, but no big deal, I can sit out this month if need be. I'd probably be better off if I did..."

I "blew by" my goal by riding at least thirty miles every day of the last week I was able to ride, motivated by my teammates and the lack of compassion by certain members of the opposition.

Bear, I am here to say that your goal is no issue. Your request was granted without equivocation.

I think this "lack of compassion by certain members" comment is hooey, though. Nobody lacked compassion. One person raised the SAME question that was raised in the swim challenge regarding withdrawals. That's all it was. This challenge is almost over, there was alot of smack going round, some people could take it, others couldn't. Let's not open old wounds. Please.

LOL! I had no idea I triple posted that until today! That's what I get for trying to chat and post at the same time...

BTW, I couldn't wake up for my swim this morning, so I'll be riding again this afternoon!

I probably knew this information a few weeks ago but please cut me some slack..... when does the Bike Challenge end and when is the final day/time to post?

Much appreciation to both captains for keeping everyone so involved. It was a great challenge. Looking forward to the brick challenge......
