Yes, I still dislike clipless pedals (long story, but scars are enough to explain).  Anyway, wondering what BT'ers that use platform with Toe clips and whats the lightest setup brands that you have?

I think if you choose to take that inefficient of an alternative that a few grams of weight won't matter.

If your set on using platform pedals because your concerned about being locked-in, give Power Grips a look.  Bike Nashbar has on sale for $20.  I use them on my MTB.

Yeah, I went back to platforms too. Life's too short to not enjoy biking. I got Forté ATB Comp Pedals from Performance Bike. They were the smallest platforms I could find. I don't use toe clips.

I just got some pedals that have SPD clipless on one side and flip em over and they are platform on the other for the stop and go through town...

I don't want to restart the strps versus clipless pedals debate.  From your comments about scars, it sounds as if you had a bad experience with clipless pedals.

I understand how that can happen.  When I first started cycling, I couldn't unclip at a stop light and ended up falling over.  Luckily, the car behind me saw me in time and didn't run me over.

I would recommend that you give it another try, and I'd recommend the Speedplay Light Action pedals.  They are extremely easy to get in and out, plenty of float, and you reap the efficiency benefits of clipless pedals.
