Geez, how'd this thread get onto page 2?  Here's a noteworthy bump...as of today, I made my goal!  362/360 miles.  Now, I have another 88 to reach my goal-over-goal of 450 (125%).

Get out and ride!

No rides for me today boys, but I did get in some gnarly swim time.  I have one more ride planned for tomorrow of approx 20 miles and that will be it for me for the month.  That should put me at approx 93/60 or 155%.  Unfortunately I have to take a 2 day Pediatric Advanced Life Support class on Wed and Thurs.  I sincerely hope my miles are enough 'cause I don't wann lose this thing to some girls!

I got in a short 14 mile ride on a hilly course. 53:01 ... I can't figure out what I have to do to ride this under 50 minutes (been trying for the last year). Oh yeah, ride faster. Why didn't I think of that before.

To borrow the slogan of the early 90's Chicago Cubs, "I'm working on it."

I'm at 247.22/275 (~90%). I've got mapped out a nice long course that's at least 40 miles. I'll tackle it Tuesday or Wednesday, and it'll put me over my goal, which is good .... I'm to the point where I could use a few days without even looking at my bike. We've started bickering already. Any longer, and my bike's gonna have ME sleeping in the basement for a change.

Now, I'm finally in the plus column!  I banked 45.5 miles today, taking me to 407/360 or 113%.  I have another 47 miles to reach my stretch goal of 450.

Okay, right now, I will commit to riding my bike at least once a day for the next 3 days.  Who's in on the Testosterbone Challenge?

Suffered through 17 and change last night and practically thought about throwing in the towel. I thought "Two more days, 90-few miles to go... It's not going to happen. I'm done." Then, an amazing thing happened. All of a sudden didn't care any more and I wasn't getting myself all worked up about it. So this morning, I went out put in another 21 and change with plans of riding tonight, and twice tomorrow. If I make it cool, if not, well sorry, I tried my best and I CHALLENGED myself - that's the point of all of this, isn't it?

Congratulations to everyone who's put in their miles and then some. To the rest of us, the race isn't over until the you cross the finish line, so ride strong and smart (it's hot out there) and give it everything you have

Take things in stride. Extra stress never really helped anything. Good for you.

Trying your best is an expectation, setting a milage target and hitting it was the goal. Another goal was to improve each person's cycling/endurance, have consistent training, focus on the bike, etc. So, even if one does not hit one goal, they make have hit a few others.

One can learn something from not hitting a goal.

I'm gonna go ride 40+ miles in RealFeel temp of 96F (yeah, woo hoo. Yippe .. and whatever other sarcastic remark I can make), so I can hit my goal and be done with it. It's strange, but I'll be more relieved when it's over than i will be proud of hitting the mark. The biggest thing I have learned is my frequency-volume-duration tolerance for the bike. It's making me take a realistic look at whether I'll be able to prepare/train for an IM. 1/2IM may be my ideal distance.

Anyway, I'm off to ride a new course on a beautiful sunny day. The skeptic in me wants to point out that it's 86F w/ 66% humidity for a RealFeel temp of 96F ... but this is the day God gave me, I'm gonna go enjoy it.

I got an additional 13 miles in which puts me at 91/60.  91 doesn't really seem like that much but that is by far the most I have ever ridden in 4 months, let alone 1 month.  I look forward to the time when a 40-50 mile ride is commonplace.  Not there yet, but it'll be here before I know it.  At least I now have a better idea of where to put my goal on the next bike challenge.

Ok Bones...got 60 in today to get to 365/471 or about 77%.  Not going to make my goal....too many personal life issues the last week or so and then bad weather the last two days.  But I'll try to get another good chunk in tomorrow to get close.  Gotta play the hand you're dealt and that's what I've done.  I'll be close so thanks to all you studs who put in extra so we can spank those Chyks!!

51.47 miles today for a total of 298.69/275 (~108%). I don't really want to see my bike again till (at least) next week ... but a part of me wants to ride another 1.31 miles just to have a "300 month". Us (former) athletes are all about individual numbers. =)
