Subject: Wetsuit temperatures?
My brother just moved to Michigan and is going to start racing in tris also. He is trying to tell me that he won't need a wetsuit for swimming in Lake Michigan. I am trying to tell him that he is going to freeze. What do the Michigan BT'ers think??

Of course I'll need a wetsuit for Lake Michigan.  I was talking about the inland lakes!

I would consider posting this in the Michigan forum.

Considering that Madison, WI may have similar water temperatures, I would think that most of the time one would wear a wetsuit in training in open water and in Tri races, even if only a sleeveless type.  I have seen persons that are bigger in stature than I (I'm super skinny) that have gone without a wetsuit because they could handle the temperature down to 68 degrees, but, they have the body content, probably, to handle it.
