I picked up an H2O Audio Interval (old Shuffle version) thanks to a fellow BTer "friends & Family" special. I've had it for a few months and never tried it in the pool. Well this morning I went to practice flipturns with my daughter. After I popped the Interval in and turned it on. I giggled. It was very, cool. I was surprised how good the music sounded. I need some laps and was very, happy with my purchase. So if you're able to do tons of boring laps I would pick one of these up.

So glad to hear you're enjoying it!!  That first time you go underwater with it is really a trip, huh?

Yup. I'm very, impressed with the sound. I'm a long time www.head-fi.com member. There are nothing but headphone geeks and audiophiles.

I have the older model - seems to be the same case for the 2nd gen Shuffle, but the headphones are different. Less earbud, more of the iPod style plus rubber "jackets" that wrapped around the headphones to jam into your ear canals. I used it on occasion, but it never lived up to what I hoped because it just never fit right.

A friend of mine bought the new model and says it rocks (literally). I've now ordered it from Amazon.

Yay! Love to hear it!  We did try to make improvements to the headphones in both fit and sound quality with the Interval 3G.  Happy swimming all!!

i love to support those that support bt.com but these have been a waste for me. even with the multiple earplug options, i never really got the buds to stay in and then the waist strap was creating drag for me on speed sets. the wires were a bit of a nuisance. the best use for these were in the hydroworx underwater treadmill for me. the pool was a fail, and that might be due to user error, but i did want to mention it.

Are you talking about the old ones or the new ones? And what "waist strap"? The H2OAudio Interval unit fits on the back of your head on the goggle straps. Check out the links above...

I've used my new one twice now at the pool and the new earbuds a huge improvement over the "v1" version. Essentially the same case, but the in-ear-canal earbuds work really well. Loving it!

BTW, I've been staying at Pacific Beach in San Diego and walked by what I presume is the H2OAudio headquarters. Cool! Probably could have saved the Amazon shipping if I'd known I'd be staying two blocks away....

Yup!  That is our headquarters!  However, our stuff doesn't ship directly from here, so no worries about the shipping costs

I got one for Christmas and I finally made it out to the pool to try it out. It really is as cool as the OP said. It took some trial an error to get a good fit with the ear plugs, but after that it was smooth sailing. I'm really sold on it.

Hello all

I find that I hate water in the ear, and so I got some ear plugs.
Will the music player earphones work just as well to also keep the water out of the ears?? If so, I would love to get a waterproof player - tunes AND no water in the ears

thanks

Yes they keep the water out. That is the key to getting good sound. Getting a good fit/seal.

X2 - makes cranking out the swim much more enjoyable. Love mine and would suggest the same. As for those that have had ear bud issues, I had to try several different sizes until I found one that worked. Keep trying to find a fit as it is worth the effort, IMHO.
