Subject: Eagleman - My first Half Iron

I did it! Finished my first Half IM.  Unofficially, my time was 5:40.  It was a terrific race.  Thanks for all of the inspiration fellow BT's.  -Matt

Well done mate i am doing my first half this november here in Australia and are looking forward to it. I am unsure whether i will make it but that is the challenge that appeals to me.

Congratulations! That is a hard race. Eagleman kicks my butt every time I race it.

First year - swim bouys drifted, we swam 1.9 miles!
Next time - snapped metatarsal 3 in my left foot at mile 4 of run, ran remaining 9 on a broken/bloddy foot
Last time - flatted on bike, then suffered heat problems on run. Hallucinated - watched TREES running down the road faster than me. Had to sit under a tree for about a half hour at turn around point.

One of these years I'll kick that race's ass instead of the other way around.
