This guy is pretty amazing.  He is currently training for a human powered trip from Canada to Hawaii in a custom powered pedal boat.  At this point in time he is doing a 24 hour training session in it (on land) with a live video stream.

Very interesting stuff. Thanks for posting this here.

I must point out that some of the claims on his site are a little misleading...
Like: "To be the first person to travel 4500 km across the Pacific ocean from Canada to Hawaii by human power"
 
While that may be technically correct, Ned Gillette succesfully paddled a bone-stock touring kayak from the West Coast (US) to Hawaii in 1987. Ned did not have any creature comforts, his kayak had no enclosed cabin, he was un-sponsored, totally un-supported and solo.
This trip took him 64 days!

RIP Ned!
