Run
Comments: Hit 6 miles at 54:30, right on pace, and felt great. Then hit the 10K marker but still coudn't see the finish line, so I slacked up a bit. Marmadaddy was the best pacer ever - totally great to run with and a huge support. What would you do differently?: Know exactly where the finish line is so I can pace and push towards it, and wear a monitor so that I can silence the voice that says my heart is going to explode. Post race
Warm down: stretched a bit. not much. walked a bit. not much. What limited your ability to perform faster: training outdoors at low temperature and training more hills. Event comments: Great volunteers, yummy postrace food and warm fireplace, super friendly vibe. This was my first race of this type in the States, loved it. Will hunt for more. Hanging with the marmadaddy's kids, lil'bit of eggs and ham with toast about an hour before.
Sittin' in the car, talking to the marmadaddy. pacing around the clubhouse, forward bending to strap on the chip. And jogging a little, occasionally hopping up and down like a geek.
