Subject: Tire Sealant?
I use tubular tires to race and i'm always worried about flatting. I don't currently ride with sealant in my tires but this seems like the most logical solution to my worries and to also avoid a ruined race.  Any tips or suggestions for tubular tires and flats would be greatly appreciated.

I used it once but when I went to deflate the tire loads of the sealant came out of the valve, ruining it.  Maybe this was just a one off though.

I think your best bet is to learn how to change a tubular tire at speed.

Would agree on just learning to change the tire. Would also be curious of the impact sealant may have (if any) on the performance of same tire/wheel combo without sealant in regards to weight/resistence/role etc.

IF I were to try it (emphasis on IF), I would go with a product like STANS or a similiar latex product. Internet stories abound about people adding glitter to the sealant product to make it more effective for larger leaks.

I've tried all I can find, the Tufo Extreme Sealant works the best for me.

I did over 3000 miles last season on Tubs on my road bike. Fixed a few rear flats with the Tufo stuff. Never bothered to carry a spare.

I carry:

- 1 can of Vittoria Pit stop <--(The video here doesn't really apply. They're showing how to replace a clincher tire, not tubular).

- 1 spare tubular tire (pre-stretched & pre-glued)

- 1 razor blade

- 2-3 CO2 cartridges+inflator

My plan if I flat:

- use the can of Pit stop first and hope it seals the tire. Add CO2 if neccessary.

- If the sealant doesn't work, use the razor blade to take off the flat tubular tire, put on the spare & inflate.
