Subject: 70.3 Oceanside, CA Bike Course Wheel Question
I am racing this race in March. I have heard several people talk about the wind coming off the ocean as you head north on the first 20 miles or so of the course. I was just wondering what people's experience was with wheel setups for this race. i am thinking of running a 90mm rear and a 60mm front but I wasn't sure what anyone's experiences were on the course. I understand the conditions can change day to day, as I lived in San Diego for years, but I am traveling to the race and only able to bring a couple choices for wheels.

THANKS!

I'd be more worried about the hills.  It has quite a few big climbs.  When I did it in 08 I didn't really notice the wind to much.  There were a lot of people with discs so i wouldn't worry about it.  Your setup should be fine.
