kcarroll - 2010-02-26 1:46 PM Afternoon everyone.  Had an epic snow shoeing session today.   A little under 2 hours and I am wiped.  That is such a good feeling.  Surprisingly there weren't any cross-country skiers out.  I had the course pretty much to myself.  The only critters I saw were a huge red-tail hawk and some geese.  Oh, and a cute golden/chow mix that was out romping with her *mom*.  She wouldn't come near me though.  Afraid of the poles.

Sounds wonderful.

givemashot - 2010-02-26 1:57 PM Hi. I am doing another driveby posting. I have to get ready for this trip! I can't believe I leave in less than 24 hours and I haven't even got the schedule written out for the sitters. On a positive note, I get to go pick up my hubby at the airport in about 10 minutes. (eek!). My 13 year old is asleep on the couch with a 102* fever. I have the caffeine jitters, but I am still awake (that's a plus...), and did I mention I have to leave in the morning and I am nowhere NEAR ready? You have no idea how many thing are going through my head right now. Wow. Miss you all---hoping I get a chance to check back in later today, or visit and get caught up sometime after Sunday. (I'd pick the first one, but hey, I wouldn't be much of Gouhlie if I didn't have my priorities straight, right?) laters.

Amy, it's Arizona.  Jeans, a couple cute tops, and a jacket for when it cools down at night are all you need.  Have fun!  We'll be here when you get back.

Arizona *toppage*

I don't know about that.  Arizona can get pretty cold in the winter.  Maybe not as cold as Salt Lake though.

Hi Gang.  Ok, I had to go to the grocery store.  Haven't been in a while and I needed a few things.  Now, I knew that it would be a bit picked over given last night's storm but holy moly.  It looked like there had been a major disaster vs 16 inches of snow.  For heavens sake, how do you run out of garlic?  Was there a warning of a possible vampire invasion that I missed?  And low fat sour cream?  Clearly a staple that you need if you're snowed in a day or two.  But the real insult was no People magazine.  Now what am I going to do tonight while I sip some Chardonney?  I'm sure I'll think of something, but pfffft.

Take a long hot bath

Curl up with a good book

Think about where you want to install the pole in your house

Do nothing

Call a friend you haven't talked to in a long time

Watch an old movie

Just a few suggestions for you.

Ok Ghouls, off to cook some dinner.  Tonight will be asparagus, brocolli, and feta on whole wheat penne minus any garlic.  (Ann, sorry about the vegetables.)  Then off to contemplate where I'm going to install the pole and then settle down with a book.  Wine sipping to begin, now.

Chat later.

Good morning Ghoulies!!!

What's on tap for today?

I feel MUCH better this morning. My elbow and back feel better, too.

I'll be heading to the Y soon to swim and lift. I was going to run on the treadmill but the wind has finally died down so I am going to run outside today. WOOT!

There may be some Yoga involved when I get home, too.

Later today I'm heading over to a friends house and then off to Hooter's for beer and wings.

Short bike and run on tap for me today.  It looks like the sun's out so that's a bonus.

I will also tinker with my bike at some point too.  It's time to replace the chain and I have a new crankset to put on.

Hey Ghoulies. I got pizzed at the weather again and went out and bought a treadmill. Used supposedly but it is still in the box! Now all I have to do is get it out of my car. The DH is at a campaign event (already- some dedication for some dead guy we don't know)- and I can't get it out of the car by myself.

I want to go for my run!!!!!

wgraves7582 - 2010-02-27 9:34 AM quick driveby ghoulies - did some cross country skiing this morning and then a short roller workout.  Now I am dropping wife off at sisters, going swimming, shopping, then we have a basketball banquet tonight followed by an event at a local church with the kids!

Typical busy weekend!

Hi everyone.  Hope the weekend plans are panning out.  I slept in this morning then went for a 6 mile run with a friend.  Legs were a tad pooped after yesterday's snow shoeing extravaganza. B'fast at the diner followed, of course.  And, we stopped at the LRS which had a 50% sale on winter stuff.  I scored a very cool Saucony vest. Bright orange with reflector panels.  Perfect for early morning spring running.  Now I am showered, got my compression tights on for the tired legs, smothered my hair with a conditioning mask, slapped a moisterizing something or other on my face, and I am going to lay in front of the fire and take a nap. Life is good.

Thanks. DH finally came home and we got the thing together while not being too snotty to each other. I got a short run on it. My legs hurt. I think I need new shoes!
I would NEVER laugh at you. I did the same today while waiting for DH to get home. The UPS guy came by..... I hid

Going to hear music at a so so restaurant/bar tonight. It is my step daughter and her beau playing. I am not sure how good they will be. At least it is something different.

Well, from what I can gather fro this one page, some gouhlies are recovering from sucktastic days, others are in the middle of them. Hope te sun comes out and the clouds show their brilliant, gleaming silver lining. We made it to Veags tonight--just got here. Heading to bed now so we can hit the road again at 5 AM to get the rest of the way to Phoenix. I was up until 2:30 this morning, so I skipped my morning swim, and I still was 3 hours late getting ready to go. Where does the time go? You all amaze me when I here abiut what yu pack into one day on the weekends. Looks like hubby won't need me at the expo much this week after all--good thing I brought my running shoes and swimsuit, huh? I'll check in again later. Mwah!!!

MORNING GHOULIES.

what a night.  i have to say, i felt really old.  to be surrounded by a bunch of 20 somethings, albeit fun&funny as hell, partying just made me feel incredibly misplaced for lack of a better word.

i have to say though, i hung in there until 1ish.  but since i had to drive myself home, it wasnt all the fun i could of been having.  i missed my chance on a DD.  ah well.  live and learn i guess.

i knew i couldnt drink/party too hard since i had to do the grown up thing and come home to the boys and work today at the Y.

the party til you puke thing really isnt my scene anyways.

im working at the Y today so no workout for me.  im hoping to get into some rhythm this week ESPECIALLY with my running.

if we have another snow day i will SERIOUSLY take the bridge.

my training has just felt soooo disjointed.

too much spinnng.

not nearly enough running.

and some odd sessions in the pool.

i dunno.  im thinking maybe my events 'feel' to far out, that im having a hard time focusing and getting motivated.

couldnt be ALL thats going in my personal life too, now can it?????

LOL.

im thinking maybe lowering some of my training/racing expectations might be in order.....considering.  but i dont want to give myself too much of an out either.

life.  goes.  on.  and so.  must.  i.

im sure at some point i'll get my sh^t together.  today just doesnt seem to be the day im gonna do that....or even tomorrow.

any help/advice/feedback/encouragement/support would be OH SO APPRECIATED GHOULIES.

honestly.  i could use your help here.

im trying really hard just to be realistic with myself.....and 'kind' to myself for lack of a better word.

im thinking maybe all that frustration i had towards my marriage was part of the 'fuel' for my training and now that is lifting maybe i equated that w motivation, so it feels like im not as motivated.

when in fact im letting that frustration go, and now i need a new 'source' of motivation...

i dunno.  its a theory i guess.

that and the fact that i thought there would be a certain someone in my life for the time being and that seems to be going a direction i hadnt anticipated.

life is just odd right now.

but....i do know....im gonna be better than fine.
