Got up, had coffee and ate a clif bar. Then drove down to the pier
Event warmup:

Swam for 5 minutes to get used to the waves!!
Swim
  • 23m 49s
  • 804 meters
  • 02m 58s / 100 meters
Comments:

I have no clue why I went so sloooooow on this swim I usually do a 1/2 mile in about 17.... It must have been my poor navigation.
What would you do differently?:

Navigate better
Transition 1
  • 02m 10s
Comments:

There were stairs we had to climb to get to transition. Not fun when you have Gumby legs! Other than that, It was another seamless transition!!
Bike
  • 18m 37s
  • 6 miles
  • 19.34 mile/hr
Comments:

I didn't use any of my fancy aero goodies, such as aero wheels and helmet. And for some reason my wattage was very low. It may have to do with the fact that this was my recovery week.
Transition 2
  • 00m 52s
Comments:

This was awesome... executed wonderfully
Run
  • 18m 56s
  • 2 miles
  • 09m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

ITBS strikes again. My knee started hurting at mile one, so I took it easy on mile 2
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

ITBS, and swim navigation.

Event comments:

This was my wife's first triathlon. She did the mini-mini sprint. It was 1/4 swim, 3 Bike, and 1 Run.... Congrats to her!!!

This was my 6th Sprint Triathlon of the year (10th race of the year including TT's and crits)... It was my wife's day so I didn't focus on myself too much leading to this race.

I usually have pics to post, but since my wife did the race, I will have to wait for brightroom.

Good job Ernie! You certainly put in a respectable bike split and your run wasn't bad either considering you had problems with your knee.
