So, anyone racing this year? I'm still up in the air. We are expecting our 4th kid in Sept, but I need to go back and kick this race in the butt this year. I need to actually train and heck, the weather can't be worse than last year!

I've been training and it feels great (I haven't been logging, so ignore that).

I was going to be there but now things are on hold. I may have to go to a big food show for work that starts  on monday after. I may be travling that weekend. If I can work it out some how I will be there.
I heard about the rain last year. This would be my first time for the race.

Not only was the rain bad, but it dropped from 70+ degrees to almost 50! It sucked.

It really was the pits...by the time I got to Gowen road heading for Federal Way I was shaking uncontrollably...if the paramedics would have seen me they probably would have pulled me out. I made it to T2 and my hands were so cold I couldn't tie my shoes...the volunteer with me tied them for me...I was about 1/2hr into my run when the rain stopped and I warmed up. I did finish but was never more spent in my life. That was my first tri...sure felt good about finishing. I'll be back out there this year...help me pray for better weather!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see you'll be back Brad. It was a lot of fun last year. Met a lot of great BT'ers and the town was awesome. I wouldn't make it back this year as I'm just now restarting my training after being down all winter dealing with cancer. God willing, next year.

Brad:  First congrats on #4.....going back for more, huh?  Yeah, that was one miserable day!  I was just thinking about the race and thought I'd check in here.

I thought the race, town and the BTers I met up with were great.  I survived to live another day and can't believe I didn't get hypothermia (a couple of well placed portapotties to warm up in, pathetic I know :-)

I need to get my butt in gear, I signed up for Rev3 in Cedar Point but have the summer to get going so I'm lulled into a false sense of laziness right now, hee hee.

Good Luck!!

I won't be participating in the race this year, but I will probably be volunteering and/or heckling racers at some point on the course. I'm trying to think of a good way to heckle people. Any idea's are appreciated.

I did it last year, was my 2nd ever tri and my 1st HIM. And yes, the weather sucked. It was still a great time though!

I am going to be running the Viking Man this year instead of the Boise Ironman. It is cheaper, the swim should be a little more fun and it is in September so it will give me more time to get back in shape after getting married and fat over the winter.

I'll probably be back at the Boise in 2011.

To all of those who race, I will see you there.  I haven't been back to Boise in 4 years and I'm looking forward to coming home.  I haven't done a HIM in a while so this should be interesting.

Yeah, that is what is so appealing to me.  Not much training happening out doors up here in the winter.  We just started to be able to ride outside last week.  Sept. is much easier to train for a HIM for us

What? the Vikingman is in Sept!?

Woot!

I've been looking for a race to do but all of them are too early in the season or conflict with my military obligations. I think I just found a tri to do!

The 10 day forecast at weather.com shows 71* and sunny for Saturday, June 12.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Not many warm days between now and then, so the water temp at Lucky Peak is likely to stay right around 55*, I would guess.

A little scared right now. It is my very first HIM! I am just freaking out for the weather and the water temps. I have been hearing horror stories from last year's race day and they are making me fearful. I am not very fast at any of the three sports so my goal is simple: to finish, however the weather can make a good race day a terrible one.
