as the title said... I am looking for entry level women road bike with STI shifter that would fit a 5" person.  Doesn't matter for year.

43-44 seems unusually small for someone that is around 5'0", it seems like most people around that height are on ~47-49 bikes.  How was the sizing determined?

I'd be willing to bet that a lot of people who are ~5'-0" are on 47-49cm bikes because that is usually the smallest size made for most models of non-WSD bikes.  FWIW, I'm 5'-2" and my road and tri bikes are both 48cm.  Tri bike feels good, but I feel a bit stretched out on the road bike.

I am 5'0.  specialized wants me on the 44cm and Trek wants me on the 43cm.  I read some where that if you measure your inseam by inches, minus 10" after and then convert to cm, then you will find your right size bike in cm; + and - your feet size.
