Also, I got word that they did some patching for the bike course. My guess it will still be bumpy out there next weekend. As long as some of the craters are gone, that will at least be a good thing.

Any BTers interested in a pre-race (Saturday night) meal? Wife and I had decent food at The Essenhaus last year.

J.C. - you're a poet and I didn't know it!

Someone posted a fancier restuarant which was a super nice invitation!  Here's another suggestion for the more boisterous folks (I'm not usually allowed to go to restuarants that serve $11 salads! I'm too rowdy for them!)

http://www.lloydslimited.biz/menu.htm

Jon said that's a pub that he used to frequent in his own Keuka-till-you-Puke-a days (he only was there for a semester or two, so don't hold it against him!).

6pm if anyone is interested???? We can go sooner or later. I think Jon (arrogant_bastard) wants to get to packet pickup around 4pm.

Rob-I downloaded "Kick Start My Heart" for you. Kiss

Looks like a real, good chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. Would lightning cause a cancellation? Rethinking my transition. I guess plastic over the bike and running shoes. Guess I should have practiced going with out socks.

Back from picking up my race packet. Drove around the bike course. The roads are pretty, rough. Nothing crazy, just need to ride aware. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Woke up at 4:00am to pouring rain here in Farmington. Checked a couple weather sites again didn't look promising. Wasn't looking forward to standing in the rain with the family waiting for the race to start. I played the wimp card and stayed home. At 8:30 the rain stopped here in Farmington. I haven't seen any posts about the race. Man I feel like such a wimp. I did go fishing and caught two nice bass, let them go. When is Mini-Musselman?????

Never wimp out on race day. It was raining a bit early, until transition closed and they announced that upon the first sight of lightening the race will be stopped immediately.

The rain then stopped with 10-15 minutes to go before the first wave and it stayed stopped for the next few hours.  By the time I made it onto the run course (9:50 ish) the sun was out and it was getting warm. It started pouring again around 11.

Basically, the weather cleared just in time for the race to start and for the majority of the field to finish. It was actually ideal race conditions if you made it to the finish before 11. The food was outstanding this year. I had the chicken piccatta with fettucine alfredo and roasted asparagus. The spinach salad with salmon was particularly good too.
