Run
Comments: Ran the whole thing, and bettered my time last week by 24 seconds. It was hard, though. What would you do differently?: Not sign up for a race on a weekly basis ;) I think I ran this race pretty smart, my pace was fairly even, and had a nice sprint towards the end. Passed a few people, but don't know yet where I stand in the results--won't know til probably tomorrow. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a bit, then back to the truck and home. What limited your ability to perform faster: That I'm so slow? There really was nothing. Weather was mild, I was well rested, had hydrated well. Event comments: Nice little neighbourhood race. Chip timed. They seemed to have plenty of food after the race, but it was all fruit :) They did the kids race before the adult race, which was a much better idea. It was nice to have an event for both the kids. Ran out of trophies for the kids, however, which is not great. Last updated: 2005-06-15 12:00 AM

This was a 7pm start, so tried to just keep well hydrated. Didn't eat the greatest through the day--need to watch that next time.
Ran about 600m with my youngest son as he completed the kids kilometer race (oldest was way ahead of him). Got my HR up to 160 doing that! Took a chocolate power gel about 20 minutes before the race. It was alright, but I did it without water, which in hindsight was probably not the best idea.
