Subject: RE: HR spike during run? If you were running at home in a 10x10 room without decent ventillation.... you could have run low on oxygen in the air in the room. Combination of hydration, heat, duration, intensity could have beat you up for a bit there otherwise. You might want to take note of how frequently it happens... in case there is something else going on, but probably just a bunch of stuff tellingyour heart to bump up for a bit. Fatigue load can also screw up HR. I did some LT repeats in a run this week after a hard race last week and it took a good 20 minutes for my breathing and HR to drop down even though my effort and pace were clearly zone 1 after I was done with the repeats. Also HR climbed faster and higher than it normally does at that physical effort. My body is just not fully recovered from the race yet... so rest day today. Oh, or you could have a touch of a cold or something that can screw up your HR even though your symptoms are mild. Edited by Baowolf 2010-03-12 10:47 AM
