Subject: half-sprint tri - training plan
Hello,
There will do a novice triathlon in my home town in beginning of May. It`s shorter than an sprint (300m, 8km, 2km) Should I modify the training plan for a sprint tri? Or should I simply follow the plan of a sprint because i`m will do the Montreal Esprit sprint tri in September. My strength is cycling, running is OK, but I need to work a lot on swimming.

I would stick to your plan. I don't think there is enough difference to justify a plan modification between a sprint and a half sprint.

If you modify something, I would try and do a little more swimming since it's your weakest event.

Should I start a new tread to ask if you know any coach or simply ask it.

A coach for swimming or triathlon ?

I depends very much what part of town also

For swimming, you can either take private lessons or join masters

For tri, many of the coaches are online and will give you plans over the internet. But you can also get plans here on BT.

Tri clubs can also be a good place to go if you are willing to expand the $.
