Subject: Bitten by the bug
Hi all,
I'm only new to the site but so far i've already found heaps of great advice and information.
A bit of background - I have only participated in one tri so far and I loved it so much - I achieved my goal times and learnt a lot from it so that next time I am more familiar with the processes and hopefully faster. The only problem was that I feel very ill 2 days later and have been struggling to train since.
Triathlon training has a lot of variety and requires a lot of discipline which go hand in hand with my current profession and future ambitions. I am able to combine passion with ambition which makes things a lot more enjoyable and easy when getting up early to train.
I llok forward to being more involved in the future and once I am recovered - i'm gunna go hard!

Welcome matto! Congrats on becoming a TRIATHLETE and good luck with your future training! Hope you feel better soon. it's definitely good to rest up the days after a tri if you can; easy to get sick then.

Welcome to BT!  Yes I too got bitten by the bug  last fall but now I have traded up and have to constantly feed the rat!!!!!  It is common to get sick after a tri.  While moderate exercise will boost the immune, intense  exercise can weaken it.  I had a head cold after my first tri last fall.  Of course the damp rainy weather didn't help.    you will recover and begin to gain more and more strength.

Heal quickly and get back out there!

Welcome and good luck on you future tris

Advice . . . save gobs of $$$ for this sport.  As I have heard from most and done myself end up spending lots in gear initially.  It is like Christmas all the time.
