Subject: Stupid question about inner tubes
Okay so I'm a cycling noob. Sorry for that. I have what feels like a dumb question but I have to ask anyway.

I sent my wife to the LBS to pick up some tubes. I sent the box from the last one w/ her so she would be sure to get the correct size. Well some dood was helping her and said "Oh here, use these." and handed her a couple boxes. "Cool" I said. I definately have the correct size. Well now I'm looking at the boxes and I found that the old size is 700x20/28c however the new is 700x18/25c.

Am I missing something? I'm inclined to say that these new ones will not work. But then again, I'm a noob. So tell me people, what am I missing?

These should work just fine.

20/28 means it will fit 20-28 tires and the 18/25 means it will fit 18-25 tires. Most road tires are 20 or 23 so unless you have really wide tires then you should be just fine.

The first number (700) represents the tire diameter. The second set (20/28c and 18/25c) represents the range of tire thicknesses the tube will fit in. You're likely riding a 23, maybe a 25. In which case either of these will work. You should be able to find the spec on the sidewall of the tire.
