Congratulations Emily, that last 10 won't be hard to lose now with all the excitement. Also, sorry to hear about the sickness misscullen. Hopefully you finally have this thing whipped. On the home front, I did my LT run test last night to set my heart rate zones for my half iron training plan. It felt awful. My zones seem really low. Don't know if I can keep my heart rate that low while training. Will see how it goes.

Emily, congrats!  Such exciting news!!

Hope everyone is still making their dreams come true.

I had a milestone this morning - finally broke the 150 barrier at 149.5.  WHOO HOO!!

Nothing like that to motivate me even more to get to 145.

Hi all-

I know I've been MIA for a couple of weeks.  Been busy and trying to spend all the time I can outside.

Things are going good.  I've lost 6 pounds so far (9 more to go).  I've been really good the past week and a half and I can see results.  That's the best motivation to keep going!

I've got a sprint tri this weekend and I'm 7 weeks out from my HIM.  I have to admit I'm freaking out a bit about   the HIM, because of my travels I'm not where I should be in training volume but I'll just keep plugging away and see where I can get.  I struggle with the mental part of it.  Yesterday I went out for a 45 mile ride and I couldn't help but thinking "I'm tired just from this...how am I ever going to run 13 miles afterwards??".  I need to stop that!

Hope everyone is doing well.  I haven't had a chance to read through all of the posts.

Emily - congrats!

Laura - good job, every little bit counts and gives you some momentum.

Jennifer - just keep logging the time and you'll be fine.

As for me, I had a terrible two weeks of eating and not getting in the exercise I wanted.  I'm down .8 pounds, but I really wanted to be under 220.  Our weight loss challenge has 2 weigh-ins left, and I really want to hit my goal of 210 (and possibly win some cash!), but it's going to be tough.

Lots of good food and good training over the next two weeks.  I can do it!

The good news is you had two bad weeks and were still down .8.  That's great (at least it didn't go the other way)

Congrats. everyone on their good week. I went and watched the Kansas 70.3 this weekend and jockstrapped for Jeremy, Justin and Shawn. Had a great weekend. Didn't get in the workouts I wanted but came away inspired to be better. Was actually kind of fun watching the event. We had volunteered for the first one and I raced last year. There was a few times that I felt a little bad since I couldn't race but it didn't last long. Hoping for a good week of training.

Hi guys...just checking in.  Good week so far.  Yesterday I had a terribly stressful day at work and as I was venting to my husband seriously considered not doing my workout and ordering a pizza instead .  But I shook that off, got a hard run in, through some heavy weights around and went home and ate a healthy meal of whole wheat pasta, grilled chicken and veggies.  Major accomplishment!  Traveling today so rest day for me.  Hope everyone is doing great.

Hey everyone. Weighed in today at 206.5, down 7.5 from where I started. Feeling good to lose a little while not getting in the training I want. Things should go better now that I am getting my diet under control and am getting my workouts in. Everyone have a good remainder of their week.

Hello all, I have been busy with life and the kids. Training has be a real pain, I got the sinus thing and it set up in my chest. Grrrr….  I think that I am finally over it..  I have a race this Sunday I have to say I am nervoise about it. I feel good about the swim and the bike, the run is making me worried. I have to keep telling myself when the thoughts of letting up come into my head just to shut up…  I will decide if I am going to do the HIM in Branson after this race. If all is good I am going to focus purely on that and not worry about any other races..

Good news is I hit the scale for the first time in a month was 240. 20 pounds away from goal. Yea.. I am so excited, that I am getting close. Once I get to 220 will have to see how my body structure is and if I can lose any more..  But I am will be happy when I get there…

Good luck on your guys races this weekend. Looking forward to hearing how they went. Way to go on the weight loss Wilroymi, those last 20 will come off quick with your training. Weighed in today for our weight loss challenge. Had a good week of training and diet and am down to 204. Down 10 pounds in one month. Happy with my results and looking forward to losing the next 10.

Hi all,

Mind if I join in?  Weighed in at 148 last week (next weigh in is tomorrow morning and I have a feeling it is not going to be pretty), which is 8 lbs up from January.  Have gained 5.5 lbs since the tri season began... really not sure what is going on.  I can tell that some of it is muscle since my measurements have roughly stayed the same but some is definitely fat (hello love handles!).

I think my appetite is bigger than my training even though I'm pretty careful about what I eat (no packaged foods, rarely eat out at restaurants, etc.).  At first I speculated that perhaps some of the weight gain was because I wasn't eating enough calories but I upped my daily calories to what seems like a reasonable amount (2000) and am plateaued if not gaining a tiny bit.

My "goal" weight is 135 but I honestly don't care what I weigh so long as all my clothes fit, which is why I will keep taking measurements once a month.

You all are doing great!

Weighed in this morning (yesterday was a race):  147.0.  Next scheduled tri is July 10th, which is about 4 weeks away.  Would love to be down to 142.0 by then, but I'll take 143.0.

Hi all-

Had a sprint tri this weekend.  Did pretty well especially considering I was recovering from the stomach flu and the weather was AWFUL (cold and pouring rain the whole time).

Weigh in tomorrow, wish me luck   I didn't eat very well this weekend...

Ugh.  Skipped my weigh-in on Monday due to exhaustion.  Fell asleep at 7pm after a long day of work.

Now, my motivation is lagging.  My workout last night was less than lackluster, and I have no energy or urge to do any S/B/R or even weights.  I need to get back in the swing of things, but it's a "chicken or the egg" argument - working out will make me feel better, but I need to feel better before I work out.

Ah, well, I have some motivation today so I'll see if I can get a good workout and a good meal in tonight.

Welcome to all the new members to this forum. It's been a great source of encouragement for me. Great job on everybodys races this weekend. It's always fun to get out there and compete after all the training. I feel for you Stuy about your lack of motivation. I've had that several times myself. It will pass, espically after you get out there and train some more. I have been on a mini vacation with my family for the last several days. My diet wasn't the best but I did try and get out and train while we were gone. Missed one workout but did the best I could. I'm not sure if I'll make the weigh in tomorrow at work but I'll try. Want to see if I'm progressing or not. Have a good rest of the week.

Wow, we've all fallen off the face of the planet.

Had my last weigh-in last night.  Down 1.1 pounds to 220.7, bringing my overall annual weight loss to 46 pounds even.

Now, only 25.7 more to go.  I'm hoping/planning to have it off by Thanksgiving.
