Subject: My 1st Podium
2nd Place in AG 40-44 for a local 5K. PR of 22:22.  Not a time that would podium in most races, but as I've seen stated here before, It's all about who shows up. 

Goose Creek 5K AG40-44 2nd Place

Shout out to my brother and fellow BTer batlou, who was 3rd.  His son was 1st for 15 & Under.

My first 5k I placed 3rd and there was only 3 runners in my age group, but I got the medal.  My wife was not happy.

Funny note: I got an email from a member of my tri club and age group, thanking me for not showing up at yesterday's race and allowing him to get his first ever AG win.

Congrats dude!  I stumbled upon an AG first place in my masters swim meet today.  Sometimes it pays to just show up and be the only one in your age group!

I asked a local tri shop owner the other day how he did in a race.  He told me he finished last in his AG...but also finished 2nd...LOL

Nice run, Tyler was rubbing it in this morning on the way to school.  I asked him if he was going to take his medal to school.  He replied..."Are you going to take your's to work?  Oh that's right, you didn't get one!"  little turd.

My plan was to push him to the finish and he ended up pushing me.  Met one of my 2010 goals as well of a sub 25 minute 5K (24:44).  I guess I need to make sub 24 now.
