Subject: Lake Pleasant Swim?
Has anyone done an OWS at Lake Pleasant yet this year?  Just wondering about water temps, etc.  Website shows that temp is getting at or above 60 as of today, has anyone taken the plunge yet?

a few folks from first wave tri have been out. They say the temp is just above 60, so yeah, still chilly. There are group swims This week Thursday at 5pm and Sunday at 7am. Check the firstwavetri.com site for details.

Do you know if you have to be a member to swim with them? I'm planning on joining just haven't done it yet.

Tried to make it out there today but I got screwed by people I work with again. I actually made it out there and saw about 5 people in the water but t was almost 5:30 and they had said that they were only going to swim fr about a half hour. One day I'm going to actually do an OWS. I'll be doing the 7am this Sunday at Lake Pleasant. Hope to see some people there.

Dude, you drove all the way out there you should have gotten in the water for a bit. ...just to get a feeling for the suit  (again.)

This OWS is like groundhog day. Every time I go to the lake, there's no opportunity to swim. Maybe Sunday will end the streak.

I figured by the time I got my suit on that they would be climbing out of the water. I'm aquatically challenged.

Yes I did, It's slowly getting warmer but still a little cold. (57 degrees)
This website is usually up to date, in the upper right hand corner it tells you the water temps pretty much daily. It says what the temperature in Peoria is, then below that it has a little box talking about the lake levels and the water temp.

I few of us swam there yesterday, and I thought the water was nice. It was cold at first, to be sure. But once I started stroking, I didn't even notice it.

According to the Rick's post on FWT's website

OK, OUR NORMAL WEEKLY SWIM IS GOING TO BE ON WEDNESDAY'S BUT THIS WEEK IT'S TUESDAY BECAUSE THE WEATHER IS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER. PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY E-MAIL OR CELL PHONE IF YOU CAN SWIM, I WILL NOT GO ALONE!

He loves caps.  So he's leading a group every Wednesday (except this week, it's Tuesday). Also, Cheryl Miller usually posts a weekend swim at Lake Pleasant. I don't see one up for this week, but keep an eye out for it on the fwt website.
I'm not planning on attending any of the lake swims for a little while, though.
