Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:45 and had bagels with peanut butter. Picked up the boss at 6:45. Got lost but used the Tom Tom to quickly rectify matters.

Event warmup:

Cold and biting on the banks of the Potomac. Staying warm and mild stretching up to the start.

Run

Comments:

Felt very good for my first mile. Tried to find another gear late, but it wasn't happening. Still, I posted a negative split.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing for where I am in my training.

Post race

Warm down:

Walked back to the cars with the boss.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wind in my face for the last mile.
