Couldn't help myself. Good mornong. At least until I have to do 1700 meters and bike 50 minutes per the 1/2 Ironman training schedule, then it will be a bad, nasty, cloudy, evil morning as I have to get it done by 11:00am to pick up my daughter for the easter bunny who will be here by noon. Right now it is a kind of an abstract, painful recolection that doesn't really touch me, but I know it will, in spades. Tomorrow I pay. Then I get served in a big way, but Thursday's are the only free night I have... if I don't have a date, it's the fellas, or the other way around. Sadly, sometimes it's both fellas and a date! So often both seem like a chore, to be honest. Still, tonight I met a REALLY, REALLY interesting girl which kinda makes tomorrow's pain worthwhile. I don't know if you ladies know it, but you make the world go round. You are why everything happens for someone like me. Really, whatever you look like, whoever you are, I love you! I mean unabashedly, totally just plain love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that I will be forever be banned from this site for over-the-top suck-uping, I feel a certain lightness. A freedom I have never known... It's almost zen-like - stop being... just become... The smallest breath can move the bigest rock... the smalles wave... I have no idea what I'm saying, just that I'm first...! SUKAHS!!!!!!! Good night now...! Or for Trimom: good morning!

(I would like to apologize for whatever it is I just said. No animals were harmed during the making of this e-mail, though some testing did take place and "harmed" is a completely relative term....).

Tom, do I see some sleep deprivation going on there? LOL Yes, we know we make the world go 'round, we just let you think you do most of the time

I am going to dig out the Camelback (thanx for the tip Sharon) and bike to the Y for a swim. It's got to warm up a bit first, but I won't wait all day. Sox game at 3

I'm off to the club as usual. But first I gotta shave my legs. I hate the first time of the season, the maintenance bit is OK, but getting through that rain forest with the industrial clippers and then the razor blade is a PITA!

Tom, what can I say, but Wow.

Wow.  Still trying to digest everything.

Swam 1200 this morning.  Run later.  Does cutting the grass count for anything?  I'll probably do that, too.

For everyone reading the posts, always remember that men are very simple creatures.  If you start to think that we put some thought into something or that we have alterior motives or that we have some grand plan, just stop.  It's not true.  I hate to admit it, but what Tom typed early this morning is what is usually rolling around in most or our heads most of the time we are awake.  The rest of the time it's like our mind is TV static.

Happy Easter.

TB

Silly boy, of COURSE we know that we make the world go 'round. We just try not to let YOU know that we know

And happy birthday, Lori.

I GOT MY NEW BIKE TODAY! Now the question is whether or not I can sneak out of work and ride around this afternoon. I'm thinking that's a bad idea, but.... I'm open to evil influences here!

So, yesterday I did the yoga and the step class, but not the abs class. That's what I was afraid was going to happen, so now I'm short an abs workout for the week. Sigh.... Today's plans are yoga and biking. The scheduled workout was yoga and running, but I wasn't thinking I would have my bike already. So, in my little world where I make the rules, it's okay to switch workouts around under these circumstances.

Tom, you should write those funny greeting cards! You are a hoot! I guess that explains the silly and endearing look on a lot of men's faces?
But alas. it's off to run on the treadmill and hit the weights. Good training to all!

1000 yard swim, 20 mile bike, 4 mile run.

I make a motion we rename the "brick" part of this training to "the huge lead reinforced cement block". Man, my legs felt terrible just off the bike. I didn't think I'd make it up the street. In any event, my first practice tri. is in the books.

BTW, my wife asked last night "What are you planning to do with all this running, swimming, and the new bike?" I guess I forgot to mention that I have signed up for two tri's already and am planning to sign up for a third. I hope she doesn't ask how much the entry fees are, or how much my bike and tri suit cost, etc etc. ... Does anyone think I need to work on communication?

Happy 40th, Lori! Hope you are feeling great!
Tom and Terry, you are both a hoot. It is rare when we get a glimpse into the male mind!

Rest day today...well really I am working at cleaning out a messy basement full of crud.
Will get back into the workouts tomorrow.

I am proud of myself for resting!!! Last year I had a huge problem with that.

Wow.  I am so glad that I decided to read today's log.  I have been pouting today.  Rest day.  Well, enforced rest day.   I was supposed to rest yesterday due to a painful hip and ended up running, and paying a dear price in form of painful everything to do with the legs and especially the knees.  So, now I am resting and the pouting begins.  The training time is MY time.  I want it back.  Oh well.  So, since I was pouting and not working out, I wasn't going to "log" today.  I'm glad I did.  You guys are hilarious.  Thanks for the laugh!  We are off to go out of town this weekend to find eggs with Grandma and Grandpa.  It should be fun.  And while I am supposed to be taking a few days off, I think I might sneek a walk or a ride in somewhere!  Have a great weekend all!

If I make the world go round then why can't I find a man????

Tom,

Thanks for your post. It's nice to hear "I Love You," even from a total stranger. Oh wait, maybe that's not so nice. That's kinda' scary actually!

Oh, happy B-day Lori! You really Rock! Wow!

Anyway, thought I wouldn't have a workout log but thanks to the Chicago Park District I couldn't escape. Did new PB today - RAN FOR 20 MINUTES W/O STOPPING! Big milestone for me. Woo hoow. End up running about 1.75 which is the longest I've ever run. Then 7.5 miles on the bike trainer, push-ups, sit ups.

Have a great day all!

And thanks Tom! You rock!

Ovetta.

Infosteward, I have meditated on your delima (even now I hold the form "funky pelican scratching the wind"). In unbecoming, scattering my essence across the cosmos like a fishing net in the waters of existance, I have the answer to that which you seek:

Grasshoppa..., the answer to your riddle is this: That which you seek cannot be found. It must find you... or you could try a dance club... either way.

Low key day -- in the pool for a meager 17 minutes and just putzed around. Nice whirlpool and sauna after.

25 minute leisurely walk at work.

Happy birthday Lori....
