Holiday weekend is going well here!!! I started off on the couch to 5k program as well and its really working. This past week I was up to running for 15 min and I'll increase again this week. I already feel like I can run longer, but don't because of the whole only 10% increase thing. Anyway...glad your run/walk went well. Sounds like everyone is working hard!

Nice to meet everyone!

Some background: I`m 24 (about to turn 25), originally from Southern California, but now living in Japan. I`ve been teaching English here for about a year and a half. I`ve been swimming my whole life and have come to really like riding over the past few months. My hobbies include surfing (this really cuts into my training time some weeks ), guitar, and learning Japanese.

I might be able to help if you have swimming questions, and I`ll probably have a few about the bike.

Now let`s train!

Good job Laura! The more endurance you build the stronger you will get in all 3 disciplines.

We are having a great holiday wkend! I am up early this morning to do a 3 mile road race (my speedwork for the week). This evening we will head out to watch the fireworks...

Happy 4th, team mates!

Hey Teamies....are we ready to rumble????

I'm heading to the gym this morning to do some speed work on the treadmill - and then may hit the stationairy bike for awhile.

I'll update my log when I get back...My two daughers are thinking about doing a tri with me on Sept 11 - how's that for accountability!!!

Team 9 RULES!!!

Come on guys and gals - lets take this on with gusto.

How is everyone doing?

Yesterday was a killer for me - but it felt GREAT. Going to hit the gym again with my daughter today and do some hill and interval on the stationary bike - and then a short run - finishing off with a brisk walk. It is going to be life awakening I can feel it.

Had a great workout weekend. 109 on the bike, 5 running, and 1900 yards swimming. Bad news is that we got a tropical storm (Cindy) in the gulf and the weather has gone to he#$. Looks like I will be forced indoors tonite for another run.

Do we have rules yet???

Ken

Workoutbunny and Manatee Express...excellent wkends!

I had a good one too...11 mile run on Saturday morning followed by a 1200 yard swim.
Sunday was low key (3.5 mile easy running) because I had a race on Monday. The race went very well! It's a local 3 mile race (250 runners). I did a 19:35 (6:30m/m pace) and won First Female Masters. I was 6th female overall so it was a solid effort.
This week brings lots of swim and bike time.
Have a great one teammates!

Hey team!

As far as I know, the rules are as follows:

- Each person gets a percentage completion for each discipline with a max of 100% in each.
- Those 3 percentages then are averaged for that person for an individual score.
- The Team score is then achieved by averaging the individual scores/percentage of all teammates.

So basically, let's get out there and kick some rear!

I had a really good training weekend, got in about 4 miles running (that's awesome for me, ha!) went to the pool twice (about 1,000 yards). No biking, but I have a long ride scheduled for tonight after work. I lost three pounds this past week, and I'm already getting compliments from co-workers, so I'm stoked about that.

My first official tri is going to be the Fall Frenzy in Parker, CO on Sept 11. I take my GRE the day before, so it's going to be a busy couple of months here to get ready for both of these things.

Have a great week!

Okay guys, a little more info.

Pledges (which won't be an issue, because we are SO gonna win this) are up to you, I guess people go for about $20 or so. I personally am going to have to do a little less (I just graduated, still in poor college mode).

I will need your totals for July 1st through July 10th on July 11th. After that, we will do weekly updates, so the 11th-17th, 18th-24th, 25th-31st.

I'll keep everyone as updated as I possibly can, and let me know if there are any questions.

Go Team Thunderbird!

Sweet.

It hasn`t stopped raining for four days, so my bike totals aren`t up, but I`ll make it up quickly when the weather clears.

Looks like I'm late to the party, but I'm here.  I was away all weekend and just learned about this challenge.  I presume I need to post some goals.  How are we handling it?  Do I put them in my training log or here on our team thread?

Thanks.

Welcome to the team Karl! Go ahead and post your goals here on this thread, and I will take care of getting them to Renee. I will need your totals for July 1st through July 10th on July 11th. After that, we will do weekly updates, so the 11th-17th, 18th-24th, 25th-31st.

I hear you're a smack talker..... awesome! I'm not very good with that sort of thing, but I'm open to learning, and from the sounds of it, you're pretty darn good.

Alrighty, team, get out there and train! Let me know if there are any questions.

Hi Autumn! We would love to have you. The more, the merrier, right guys? Go ahead and post your training goals and pledge amount when you have a chance.

I PM'd Renee (this month's challenge facilitator) and she's going to let me know if you can be on our team.
